The two-day 46th founder’s day celebrations of Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary (GNFC) School began with a guard of honour by NCC cadets at Vincent Hill, the boys section of the school, with fervor and gaiety here today. Mrs. Probhjot Kaur, an eminent educationist, was the chief guest whereas Major General Ahluwalia was a guest of honour.
Mrs. Prabhjot Kaur unfurled the national flag and Major General Ahluwalia inspected the guard of honour led by Mr. Himanshu Nagar.
It was followed by a shabad recital. In the inter-house march past competition, Ajit House bagged the first position. The students presented several cultural activities comprised of fabulous dances by students from both the schools.
Later Mrs. Prabhjot Kaur inaugurated an exhibition of art and craft, social science and science, wherein several projects, models, art work of hobby work were presented.
A special congregation was held at Gurdwara Sahib in the school. In the shabad and Gurbani Sangeet competition Nalwa House stood first. Mrs. Prabhjot kaur appreciated the all-round development of the students and the commendable job done by teachers of the school. Mussoorie MLA Mr. Ganesh Joshi, MC member Mrs. Jasbir Kaur Sethi, S. Jaspal Singh (Chairman GNFCS Society) and his wife Mrs. Jasleen Kaur, Mrs. Amrit Sabharwal (Chairperson, GNFCS Society), S. Tejenderpal Singh, Mrs. Gurvinder Kaur, S. Harbaksh Singh, Mrs. Ahint Kaur, Mr. MP Singh, director, Mr. Anil Tewari (Principal), Mrs. ND Sawhney (Dean), Mr. Sunil Bakshi, administrative officer were present during the celebrations.
