BasketballOne of the favorite haunts of GNFCS is the basketball court situated near the dormitory. At any given free time one can hear the sound of balls bouncing off the floor or rebounding off a board.

 Achievements for the year – 2013

Mussoorie schools sports association is the dynamic organization which takes extreme care just to ensure that the students studying in different schools of Mussoorie must take active part in various sports and games activities at Inter School level and such efforts have always brought in wonderful achievements to the school fraternity of Mussoorie.

In the year 2013 as well, numerous sports activities and competitions have been conducted by M.S.S.A at different platforms in various schools when the swift and promising sports students of Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary School, Mussoorie have performed remarkably in each and every event.

Our Senior boys won the champions Trophy of Inter School Football Tournament where more than 12 schools of Mussoorie participated.

Sagar  Singh of class X introduced proud as well as  elating moments to the heart of every Centonian when he bagged 1st position in both Inter Division cross country conducted by Wood Stock School and Inter School Invitation cross country conducted by Wynberg Allen School.

The energetic sports Squad of GNFCS Vincent hill bagged runner up trophies at Inter school Athletics meet in both Senior and Junior categories, and in junior boys Inter school Cricket Tournament.

One more thrilling event was Six a- Side Inter School cricket Tournament at Survey Field where as well Rahul Kumar of class XII was awarded the title of Best Scorer of the Tournament.

St Georges College, Mussoorie conducted Inter School Manorite Table Tennis Competition and Watcharapong of class XII and Napasin of Class XI were awarded the award of most promising players of the competition.

The best way to express one’s feelings is to draw or point the same on a piece of paper. In Ancient times man used to make drawings on walls of the caves and their shelters. It is an old time tradition to make bright colourful drawings. At GNFCS Vincent Hill too an Art competition was held on 4th of April, 2014 different topics were given to classes IV to VIII to express their feelings and to elaborate the same on the paper. The boys were very enthusiastic as the unique topics were selected by our veteran art teacher Mrs. Neeta Tewari whose motive was to make the children aware of today’s need to save the environment. All the topics were directly related to the life and environment to save the lonely planet mother earth. The boys did their best. The following students bagged 1st positions in their respective classes with different topics.

Immediately after the declaration of the results the medals and certificates were awarded among the budding artists.

Jasdeep Singh Saluja of class X was given a special prize for his solo participation.

The school boasts of a running track, Tennis Courts, Basketball Courts, a Cricket Field, a Hockey Field, a full size Swimming Pool, two Table Tennis tables. Near about Swimming pool is a Gymnasium with a multi-station gym

Mussoorie Schools Sports Association organized a three day Cricket Tournament 2014 at Oak Grove School Mussoorie from 28th April 2014 to 30th April, 2014. GNFCS School Cricket Team was among the renowned team of Mussoorie i.e MPS Mussoorie, Oak Grove Mussoorie, Manav Bharti Internation School Mussoorie and CST School Mussoorie. Our team reached upto final s and after a tough completion we losed the matched narrowly . our players were highly appreciated by the sports officials and the match really became [Cricket by chance]

Cricket & Hockey


CricketCricket and hockey is seasonal activity in our school this is first activity of the year student taking part under the supervised by the faculty member and coach, student take great pride in representing their house in the inter-House tournament, which are organized annually.

It is worth mentioning and is highly commendable that GNFCS Vincent Hill Cricket Team beat Wood Stock in a friendly match organized by GNFC School at Vincent Hill on 29th April, 2014. The team won under the captaincy of Master Saurabh Mehla Master Sherbaaz Singh was declared as man of the match.

Badminton and Table Tennis

Table TenisBadminton and Table Tennis are played every day of the week, being indoor sports they are also played on rainy days. All training sessions are supervised by faculty members and students take great pride in representing their House in the Inter-House tournaments, which are organized annually.

Like every year this year too great enthusiasm was seen during the house competitions. Class mates became rivals to cheer up their housemates. Inter house cricket matches were held from 22nd April, to 27th April, 2014. The matches were played on knock out basis. All the houses gave tough competition to the opponent teams. In juniors Ajit House under the captaincy of Master Sumit Choubey emerged winners after beating Ranjit House in the finals where as in senior category Attari House under the captaincy of Master Udit Sharma became winners after defeating Nalwa House in the final match. Ajit House obtained 3rd Position and Ranjit House was 4th. In junior section Nalwa and Attari obtained 3rd and 4 places respectively.

Adventure & Excursions on river rafting

River Rafting GNFCS BoysThe Challenge of a turbulent river is no less than that of the rugged mountains. And both together become quite thrilling and adventurous. With the intricate network of mountain rivers flowing through a myriad of different colours of rocky gorges, forests, flowers and lofty mountains, Shivpuri provides an ideal location for white water rafting. The last week of April as scheduled was meant for rafting. The boys and girls trekked all the way to Dehradun from Mussoorie on different days. They had a gala time rafting in the sparkling crystal-clear water of the Ganges.

English Recitation [Juniors] and declamation [Seniors]

The time old traditions of GNFCS to explore the literary ability of the students were carried on when the first literary activity of the session took place. English recitation for [Juniors] and declamation for [Seniors] was held on 9th April, 2014. Performance of all the participants from both categories was exceptional and for the judges it was a tough time to declare the result. As most of the participants left the audience spell bound. Master Saksham Garg and Amanveer Singh in Juniors, did Ajit House proud Their confidence and contest because of .The great oratory skills of Udit Sharma and Sparsh Kapoor efforts Attari House stood first in declamation and got Ajit House the first position.
